Summer theatre school Volunteers

Carousel Players is currently seeking volunteers for our Summer Theatre School, which runs weekly drama camps for different age groups (5-7, 8-10, & 11-14) in July and August.

What is the Job?

These are volunteer positions that report to the Summer Theatre School and Education Coordinator, and are responsible assisting in delivering summer drama camps.

Where and When does Summer Theatre School take place?

The majority of our programs take place at our Arts Education Centre in St. Catharines. We have one camp at the end of August which takes place at Malcolmson Eco-Park.

Summer Theatre School programs run from 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday. While the ability to volunteer for an entire week is welcome, it is not a requirement. Dates and hours volunteering can be flexible to your schedule.

Who should apply?

Volunteers should bring the following:

  • A love of theatre and the arts
  • Spoken English proficiency sufficient to lead classroom lessons
  • Experience and/or interest in working with children is an asset

Anything else I should know?

Volunteers are required to follow the Carousel Players’ arts education and health & safety policies, available here.

This position ivolves working with minors. If you are aged 18 or older, you will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the past year. If you do not have a current VSC, Carousel Players will cover the cost of completing this check.
